OVERVIEW:

 

Job Title: Project Engineer

Location: Anchorage

Job Type: In person / Full Time

Work Schedule: Based on project needs

Performance Evaluated by: Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Supporting company operations in all aspects of construction projects.

 

Directly Responsible during the day-to-day operations by:

 
  • Support construction activities by implementing the following: planning, organizing and implementing those management duties, project controls systems, engineering interface, subcontract and materials management, purchasing and scheduling

 

  • Responsible for portions of project administration

 

  • Ensure Contract Document Logs are established and maintained

 

  • Ensure status reports on RFIs, Submittals and other Documents are prepared and presented

 

  • Write effective scopes of work for bid packages

 

  • Effectively issue Request for Quotations and follow up with Trade Contractors

 

  • Timely document field quality activities

 

  • Prepare change management reports, estimates and other cost report documents

 

  • Establish and maintain the project quality files and documentation systems

 

  • Continually promote organizational change initiatives, suggests new ideas, and adapt to work within new structures and processes

 

  • Continually seek to understand customer goals and needs and act with a sense of urgency in meeting customer needs and demonstrating value

 

  • Develop industry relationships and expand professional networks that have potential to generate opportunities for Caliber Construction Alaska LLC.

 

  • Ability and willingness to abide by company Code of Conduct on a daily basis

 

  • Ability to create and maintain construction schedules with critical path methods

 

  • Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds while performing the duties of this job

 

  • Being a Team Player

 
  • Represent the Company to customers, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and employees in a professional manner

 
  • Other Duties as Assigned

 

Education and Other Requirements:

  • 2 or 4 year degree in a related field. 

  • Perfered 2 years experience working on AKDOT or Anchorage Municipality projects.

  • Must be able to multitask (prioritize work), thrive in a fast-paced team environment, have great attention to detail, and possess excellent organizational skills.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively (both verbal and written) with subcontractors, suppliers, design professionals, clients, Superintendent and Project Manager.

  • Must be able to take direction and follow instructions.

  • Proficient in using a pc and be willing to learn how to use new software applications.

  • Be able to obtain and maintain military base access.

  • Have a reliable method of transportation to and from the jobsite

  • Fluent in all Microsoft office programs.

  • Willingness to perform additional tasks in regards of project needs

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time

  • Ability to frequently repeat the same movements with arms, hands, wrist, and fingers. (Use fine manipulation, frequent to constant traditional keyboarding)

  • Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble small objects

  • Ability to seldomly lift < 50lbs

  • Ability to reach overhead, at or below the shoulder

  • Ability to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away

  • Understand the speech of another person

  • Speak clearly so listeners can understand

  • Ability to focus on one source of sound and ignore others

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 
  • Employee is regularly working indoors, in an office setting

  • Employee is regularly exposed to moderate noise levels

  • Employee is regularly exposed to loud noise, dust, airborne particles, fumes, and various types of smells

  • Employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed to perform job tasks

  • Employee is expected to work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean work area
